About Virgin Games

Virgin Games launched in the early 2000s as Virgin's online gaming arm, bringing Richard Branson's consumer brand into UK online casino. It built a reputation for a deliberately curated lobby โ€” slots, roulette, blackjack and bingo โ€” rather than the sprawling catalogues of its rivals, and it remains a UK-only, casino-led site to this day.

Gamesys, the London studio behind Jackpotjoy, acquired Virgin Games in January 2013 and has run it ever since under licence from Virgin Group, on the Gamesys Operations UK Gambling Commission licence shared with Jackpotjoy and Monopoly Casino. The ownership path since then reads: Gamesys, then Gamesys Group plc from 2019, then Bally's Corporation from October 2021, and from October 2025 the combined Bally's Intralot group.

The stock behind Virgin Games today is Bally's Intralot S.A., listed on the Athens Stock Exchange as BYLOT โ€” the entity created when Intralot completed its โ‚ฌ2.7 billion acquisition of Bally's International Interactive business on 10 October 2025 and took the new name in early 2026. Bally's Corporation (NYSE: BALY) retains a 58% controlling stake, so US investors still sit behind the brand, but the direct listed parent is now Greek.
