About Jackpotjoy
Jackpotjoy launched in 2002 as the flagship brand of Gamesys, the London games studio founded by Noel Hayden a year earlier, and grew into the UK's biggest bingo-led gaming site. Today it offers more than 1,000 games spanning 75- and 80-ball bingo, slots, Slingo and live casino, and claims a winner every minute on average.
Few brands have had a stranger ownership ride: Gamesys sold Jackpotjoy to Canada's Intertain Group in 2015, Intertain relisted in London as Jackpotjoy plc in 2017, that company (as JPJ Group) bought Gamesys back in 2019 to form Gamesys Group plc, and Bally's Corporation acquired the lot in October 2021. It runs on the Gamesys Operations UK Gambling Commission licence, with the operator also holding Gibraltar approvals.
Since 10 October 2025 the listed company behind Jackpotjoy is Bally's Intralot S.A. on the Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX: BYLOT), formed when Intralot absorbed Bally's International Interactive division and renamed itself in early 2026. Bally's Corporation holds 58% of the Athens-listed group — meaning a brand that once gave its own name to a London-listed plc now trades, indirectly, through Athens and New York.
