About Stoiximan
Stoiximan was founded in Athens in 2012 by George Daskalakis and Dimitris Maris with under €1 million in funding and around 20 employees, and grew into the dominant online betting and casino brand in Greece and Cyprus with a market share above 50%. It is the domestic flagship of the Kaizen Gaming family, whose international sister brand Betano expanded the same platform into nearly 20 markets.
The brand offers online casino, live casino and sports betting under a Hellenic Gaming Commission licence covering both Type 1 betting and Type 2 casino games, and also serves Cyprus under local licensing. Ownership shifted gradually to OPAP, which took 36.75% in 2018-19, lifted its economic interest to 84.49% in 2020, and completed the buyout of the final 15.51% in July 2025 — around the time founder Daskalakis handed the CEO role to Nikos Fligos.
Since 24 March 2026 the listed company behind Stoiximan has been Allwyn AG, which absorbed OPAP and trades on the Athens Stock Exchange as ALWN, replacing the old OPAP ticker. That puts Greece's biggest online casino brand inside the world's second-largest listed lottery and gaming group, while Betano remains with the privately held Kaizen Gaming.
