Rizk launched in 2016 as Gaming Innovation Group's flagship consumer brand, fronted by the superhero mascot Captain Rizk and a gamified rewards engine. Its signature feature, the Wheel of Rizk, pays out rewards with no wagering requirements — a transparency angle that became central to the brand's identity.

The site combines casino and Evolution-powered live casino — including exclusive Rizk Club tables — with a sportsbook. Betsson AB acquired Rizk in April 2020 as part of its purchase of GiG's B2C business, and in October 2020 consolidated its entire British operation under Rizk, making it Betsson's only UK-facing brand. Rizk launched in Germany under the GGL regime in June 2023 and carried Betsson into Serbia with a locally licensed casino in September 2023, alongside its Malta Gaming Authority-licensed international site.
