About Sportium
Sportium is Spain's best-known homegrown betting brand: born in 2007 as a Cirsa-Ladbrokes joint venture, it built the country's largest retail betting network — around 3,000 points of sale — and a DGOJ-licensed online sportsbook and casino at sportium.es, with a former stint as LaLiga's betting partner.
Cirsa took full control in 2019, buying Ladbrokes' half for about €70 million. Cirsa itself — founded in 1978 by Manuel Lao in Terrassa and owned by Blackstone since 2018 — went public on the Spanish stock exchanges on 9 July 2025 at €15 a share, one of Spain's largest recent IPOs.
That listing makes Sportium part of a fresh listed-parent story: exposure trades as CIRSA on the Madrid exchange, with Blackstone retaining the majority stake post-IPO. Within Cirsa's portfolio, Sportium is the flagship Spanish consumer brand alongside its casinos and the YoBingo site.
