About 888casino
888casino is one of the web's original casinos, launched in 1997 by the founders of what became 888 Holdings. Operating from Gibraltar, it built a global casino-first brand — its own game studio included — and was among the first online casinos regulated in newly opened European markets like Spain, Italy, Denmark and Portugal.
Its parent, 888 Holdings, listed in London in 2005 and transformed itself in 2022 by acquiring William Hill's non-US business, renaming the enlarged group evoke plc in 2023. In 2026 evoke agreed a recommended takeover by Bally's Intralot; shareholders have approved the deal, which will end the company's two decades on the London Stock Exchange when it completes.
For now, the listed stock behind 888casino remains evoke plc on the LSE under ticker EVOK — with the important caveat that the ticker's days are numbered. Once the Bally's Intralot transaction closes, ownership exposure will shift to the acquirer's Athens-listed shares, and this page will be updated accordingly.
